• To register in advance: 21 days before the election; otherwise

    • You can also register or update your information during early voting or on election day.

    • You can vote even if you were convicted of a felony, if:

      • The felony convictions are not for the crime of buying or selling votes; and

      • You have completed your imprisonment.

    • You can vote while on probation, unless you were convicted of buying or selling votes.

  • June 23, 2026 from 7 am to 8 pm

  • In Frederick County, we have five council districts and two at-large seats. This means that five individuals represent specific districts of the county while two represent the county as a whole. However, all members cast votes on legislation, no matter what part of the County they live in.

    Some of their duties, responsibilities, and authority include:

    • Proposing, reviewing, and adopting legislation and ordinances

      • It takes an affirmative vote of at least 4 members to pass a bill into law and then 60 calendar days for it to go into effect

    • Engaging with residents

    • Reviewing and approving the yearly budget

    • The ability to override the County Executive’s veto by the affirmative vote of five County Council Members
